Tamurahime no Mikoto (田村媛命・タムラヒメノミコト) is a new character introduced in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hō.
She appears to be from the same group of beings as Hanyū. She appears to have control over the population of Japan, since she was there far longer; however, her strength is implied to be weaker than Hanyū’s.
During Kamikashimashi-hen Hanyū suspects that the recent events might have something to do with her. Tamurahime is annoyed to see Hanyū since she was on Earth far longer than her, and Tamurahime sees Hanyū as an invader. Tamurahime knows of Une's plans to destroy the Earth, and she thus made contact with Takano. Takano acts as Tamurahime's Miko (like Rika to Hanyū) and acts in her will.
She searches for Une whom she refers to as "Devil." Tamurahime also gives Takano superhuman abilities, but Takano was still defeated, and Une could not be stopped in time. Tamurahime bickers with Hanyū about whose fault this mess is; however, Rika stops it all by committing suicide. After time reverts, the club members capture the three gods and play punishment games with them and Tamurahime is forced to wear an embarrassing costume after losing a game.
Tamurahime no Mikoto has short, pink hair which appears to be styled in a bob with bangs parted on the left side of her head. She has red eyes that sometimes glow when she is angry or annoyed, similar to Hanyū. She has two small wing-like structures sticking out of the sides of her head. She is usually seen wearing a black and white kimono along with a red belt and dress.
For her punishment game, she is given a red cravat and is forced to only wear bondage belts over her upper body with blue bat-wings attached to her back. In the Entergram version she simply wears dark undergarments.
She likes rice offerings and thousand years of peace. She dislikes different kinds of clans and nations because they disturb wisdom. She especially hates Hanyū, with whom she once competed in ancient times, and she does not want to meet her ever again. Unlike Hanyū or Une, she does not cry nor panic when captured.
