Hondaya has an easy-going and friendly personality. He jokes with Akasaka that "Riot Squad Chief Sankai browbeat" him into helping him. He is a friend and probable superior of Ōishi. Hondaya is able to teasingly call Ōishi "Kura-chan" when Ōishi joins them. He then more formally introduces Ōishi as "Kuraudo-kun."

Hondaya has brown hair and eyes. He wears a charcoal gray suit with a white shirt and a violet tie.
